Green Woodpecker Oil Painting
FREE US SHIPPING (Currently on exhibit at Limestone - please purchase from them directly or contact me to check availability)
From the “Beings of the Wilderness” collection (read more below) that explores different wonderful creatures of nature, this Green Woodpecker is one I saw in Bulgaria. I was in the forest on a hike and I saw him on a tree in the distance. I looked through my binoculars to get a closer look and he/she was so beautiful. I depicted the painting in lighter colors to show that moment of awe.
The frame is handmade from pine wood and the size of the oil painting is 8”x8”, painted on board, also signed on the back.
This painting will be exhibited at Limestone Coffee & Tea for the month of July, and it will be shipped after the exhibit is over.
Beings of the Wilderness
This collection is meant to inspire us about the natural world so we can approach it with curiosity.
In this small collection of 7 three of the pieces feature a Painted Turtle, a Carpenter Bee and a Luna Moth. In addition to that, there’s a nice mix of birds in it. We have the male and female Cardinals (a pair I always enjoy seeing outdoors foraging and singing). The Green Woodpecker is one I saw when I was visiting Bulgaria, my home country - it truly felt unreal! The hummingbird is another one of my favorites, as those little birds are incredible and every time I spot them I feel happy. The Luna Moth I have never seen in person, but they are gorgeous - many times their cocoons are destroyed by raking and/or removing fallen leaves in Autumn, so leaving your leaves gives them a chance at life!
