In appearance these woodpeckers look very similar to the Downy Woodpecker, however they are bigger in size and have a longer bill. They also have sharper looking feathers. My favorite thing is to watch woodpeckers climb up a tree, and for this one I wanted to create a moody appearance of this bird and its striking in contrast black and white plumage.
