From the “Beings of the Wilderness” collection (read more below) that explores different wonderful creatures of nature, this one is an important reminder for our insects. Luna Moths are beautiful and among other moths, their cocoons often form in the leaves we see on the ground in the fall season. When we rake or blow these leaves, we are creating habitat loss and damages, resulting in a decline of those beautiful creatures. Let this painting be a reminder that all beings are important and there are small things we can do to help them be!
The frame is handmade from pine wood and the size of the oil painting is 8”x8”, painted on board, also signed on the back.
This painting will be exhibited at Limestone Coffee & Tea for the month of July, and it will be shipped after the exhibit is over.
Beings of the Wilderness
In this small collection of 8, I am including three pieces that branch out from the bird world. It is meant to inspire us more about the natural world and to approach it with curiosity. We have a Painted Turtle, a Carpenter Bee and a Lunamoth and in addition to that, the birds that are portrayed are a variety. We have the male and female Cardinals (a pair I always enjoy seeing outdoors foraging and singing). The Green Woodpecker is one I saw when I was visiting Bulgaria, my home country - it truly felt unreal! The hummingbird is another one of my favorites, as those little birds are incredible and every time I spot them I feel happy. The Luna Moth I have never seen in person, but they are beautiful - that piece stands for all the different moths we see trying to hit our outdoor night lamp - let’s be curios about them too.
